Not all hearing loss can be treated with one solution. Some forms of hearing loss are from middle ear problems, like a perforated eardrum, a middle ear tumor called a cholesteatoma or a simple wax impaction of the ear canal. A microscopic ear examination performed by our physicians can accurately diagnose middle ear problems. This type of hearing loss may be restored with surgery to normal, natural hearing.
A hearing test, accurately performed by our audiologists, will identify nerve damage from noise exposure, or heredity. Hearing loss from nerve damage may be improved with an accurately selected and programmed digital hearing aid. These hearing aids are very small and, with Bluetooth connection with your smartphone if desired. All hearing aids come with a cosmetic guarantee. In some cases, MRI imaging of the inner ear may be required to rule out rare inner ear tumors.
